Born in 1977 in Ancona, Italy, Nicola Innocentin began his journey in football as a professional player before evolving into a respected global football executive, strategist and leader. His multifaceted career spans playing, recruitment, management, consultancy and executive leadership across Europe, the United States and the Middle East, building a unique perspective on how football operates both on and off the pitch. Innocentin’s early years in football combined athletic ambition with academic curiosity. While competing professionally in leagues across Italy, Germany, Scotland and Major League Soccer in the United States, he pursued studies in Marketing and Management at Boston University, an academic foundation that would later inform his strategic approach to talent evaluation and organisational development in football. After retiring from professional play in 2010, Innocentin transitioned into executive roles.
In 2011, he became Head of Recruitment at Bologna FC in the Italian Serie A, marking the beginning of his leadership in football operations. Soon after, he expanded his influence as a football consultant and, in 2013, obtained his FIFA agent licence. That year he also founded Global Football Service (GFS), a consultancy firm offering comprehensive services including international training camp organisation, player and team management, sponsorship strategy, match analysis and scouting, reflecting his belief that football success is rooted in strategic planning and contextual insight. Innocentin’s consultancy work included managing notable transfers and building relationships with clubs, laying the foundations for his reputation as a leader capable of operating at the intersection of sporting strategy, global markets and human adaptation. He also served as Sales Director for Germany and Austria at Macron S.p.A., where he generated significant commercial partnerships between the brand and multiple professional clubs.
