Tarkan Batgün, CEO of the AI-powered Comparisonator Football Data Comparison Platform, brings over 20 years of expertise in football analytics, scouting, and football data education within the global football industry. Tarkan Batgün has also been actively involved in numerous international football events as a speaker and moderator. From 2011 to 2019, he participated in Wyscout Forums in Milan, Barcelona, London, and the Netherlands as a management consultant and conference moderator.
Since 2022, he has continued to appear as a keynote speaker and panel moderator at events such as the Hungarian Football Forum, Antalya WinterLeague Football Forum, Social Football Summit SFS Italy, and DealDone Serbia football events. During the 2020–21 season, he served as a Board Member at Altınordu FK, and between 2010 and 2021, he worked as a lecturer at Istanbul’s renowned Haliç University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, where he trained numerous football analysts and scouting professionals.
A major milestone in Batgün’s career came during his tenure as Director of Scouting at Bursaspor, where he developed the innovative “Scouting Laboratory” concept — a model that transformed the club’s player recruitment process. He played a key role in the discovery of players such as Fernandao, Cedric Bakambu, Enes Ünal, Zeki Çelik, Mert Hakan Yandaş, and Okan Kocuk. This department was awarded as the “Sample Scouting Department” at the Sportstec Innovation Conference held in 2015 in London. Over the past 15 years, Batgün has served as a management consultant for several leading international sports technology companies including SoccerLab, Wyscout–Hudl, and Sportstec. He has conducted courses and lectures on football data management and scouting methodologies across both domestic and international football federations.
Between 2014 and 2021, he led the NIKE Türkiye Scouting Team, contributing significantly to global football development. His innovative contributions and technology-driven approach have earned him multiple international awards recognizing his leadership in football technology and scouting innovation.
